| SENATE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 |
| learn of the death of
Joseph Wannamaker of Godfrey, who passed | 4 |
| away on July 24, 2007; and
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Joseph Wannamaker was born on July 21, 1923 in | 6 |
| Alton; his parents were Joseph and Helen (Henrich) Wannamaker; | 7 |
| he married the former Luetta Marquis in 1941, and they | 8 |
| divorced; he married the former Kay Stewart on March 29, 1977 | 9 |
| in Godfrey; and
| 10 |
| WHEREAS, Joseph Wannamaker served in the U.S. Army during | 11 |
| World War II; he worked as a supervisor at Owens-Illinois in | 12 |
| Alton, retiring in 1981; he was a member of Twelfth Street | 13 |
| Presbyterian Church in Alton; he was a 50-year member of Piasa | 14 |
| Masonic Lodge in Alton and a member of Alton VFW Post 1308; he | 15 |
| taught woodcarving all over the country and was a member of | 16 |
| several woodcarving associations, including the National | 17 |
| Woodcarvers Association and Affiliated Woodcarvers Ltd.; and
| 18 |
| WHEREAS, Joseph Wannamaker was preceded in death by his | 19 |
| grandson, Matthew Jacob Wannamaker; his brother, William | 20 |
| Wannamaker; and his sister, Catherine Schulz; and
| 21 |
| WHEREAS, Joseph Wannamaker is survived by his wife; his |

| sons and daughters-in-law, Joe Wannamaker, Mark and Audrey | 2 |
| Wannamaker, David and Rita Wannamaker, and Stewart and Patty | 3 |
| Bramley; 10 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren; | 4 |
| therefore, be it

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL | 6 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | 7 |
| his family and friends, the passing of Joseph Wannamaker; and | 8 |
| be it further
| 9 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 10 |
| presented to the family of Joseph Wannamaker as an expression | 11 |
| of our sympathy.
