| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Rosalie N. "Rosie" Jones of Springfield, | 4 | | who passed away on March 2, 2017; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Rosalie Jones was born in Fullerton, California to | 6 | | Clarence William and Mary Florence (Cleary) Jones on January | 7 | | 18, 1949; she graduated from Cathedral Grade School, attended | 8 | | Sacred Heart Academy, and graduated from Springfield High | 9 | | School; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Rosalie Jones spent nearly 40 years working in the | 11 | | hospitality industry, first with Days Inn, and most recently, | 12 | | at the State House Inn in the shadow of the Illinois State | 13 | | Capitol Building; and
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Rosalie Jones was a member of the Cathedral of the | 15 | | Immaculate Conception; she was, alongside her mother, an active | 16 | | volunteer for the parish and diocesan Councils of Catholic | 17 | | Women, Springfield Right to Life, the Illinois Federation for | 18 | | Right to Life, and the National Right to Life Committee; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Rosalie Jones was preceded in death by her | 20 | | parents; her sister, Marianna; and her brother, Raymond Bernard | 21 | | "Bernie" Jones; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Rosalie Jones is survived by her sons, Jim | 2 | | (Lindsey) Ducey, and Derrick Jones; her brothers, Donald G. | 3 | | (Nieves) and Robert W. (Lynda) Jones; her sister-in-law, Kathy | 4 | | Jones; eight nieces and nephews, their spouses and partners; | 5 | | nine great-nieces and nephews; six aunts and uncles; dozens of | 6 | | Cleary and Jones cousins; and many dear friends; therefore, be | 7 | | it
| 8 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | 9 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 10 | | Rosalie N. "Rosie" Jones, and extend our sincere condolences to | 11 | | her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | 12 | | further
