| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | 3 | | to learn of the death of Lawrence H. "Larry" Hinzman of Rock | 4 | | Island, who passed away on June 1, 2021; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Larry Hinzman was born in Cincinnati to Lawrence | 6 | | G. and Hilda (Doeger) Hinzman on March 16, 1926; he served in | 7 | | the U.S. Navy during World War II; he married Anne Bednar in | 8 | | Latonia, Kentucky on May 28, 1949, and she preceded him in | 9 | | death on May 4, 2015; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Larry Hinzman was an inspector at the Rock Island | 11 | | Arsenal, and he retired in 1981, after 32 years of service; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Larry Hinzman was a member of St. Pius X Catholic | 13 | | Church in Rock Island, the Davenport Chordbusters Barbershop | 14 | | Chorus, the Bend of the River Barbershop Chorus, VFW Post | 15 | | 1303, the Milan American Legion Post 569, and Allouez Council | 16 | | 658 of the Knights of Columbus; he was also a ham radio | 17 | | operator with the call sign WG9X; and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Larry Hinzman was preceded in death by his | 19 | | parents; his wife, Anne; his sons, Lawrence J. Hinzman and Tom | 20 | | Hinzman; his great-grandson, Wyatt; and one sister and two | 21 | | brothers; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Larry Hinzman is survived by his daughter and | 2 | | son-in-law, Mary Anne and Steve Goodell; his grandchildren, | 3 | | Brad Hinzman, Kevin Pauletti, April (Josh) Dubay, Dr. Justin | 4 | | (Laura) Hinzman, Ryan (Shayla) Hinzman, Erica DePape, Matt | 5 | | (Andrea) Goodell, and Erinne (Kurt Paulsen) Goodell; and nine | 6 | | great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
| 7 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL | 8 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 9 | | Lawrence H. "Larry" Hinzman and extend our sincere condolences | 10 | | to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be | 11 | | it further
