| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Dr. Meredith "Bud" Murray Jr., who passed | 4 | | away on October 12, 2018 at the age of 88; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Murray was born in River Forest to Dr. | 6 | | Meredith and Marie Murray on October 5, 1930; he graduated from | 7 | | St. Luke's Parish School, Fenwick High School, the College of | 8 | | Holy Cross, and Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine; | 9 | | he married Janine Morency, the younger sister of his closest | 10 | | childhood friend; they lived in River Forest and raised their | 11 | | children, William, David, and Janine; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Following medical school, Dr. Murray served in the | 13 | | Medical Corps, where he was a lieutenant commander on a U.S. | 14 | | Navy destroyer following the Korean War; for a short time, he | 15 | | lived in California with his young family; after the war, he | 16 | | returned to River Forest to establish a successful medical | 17 | | practice in Oak Park and spent more than 40 years in what he | 18 | | called the happiest area of medicine, delivering thousands of | 19 | | babies; he was on the staff of West Suburban and Loyola | 20 | | hospitals; and
| 21 | | WHEREAS, After his first wife's death, Dr. Murray married | 22 | | Sheila Clements with whom he lived out his retirement |

| 1 | | traveling, playing golf, and enjoying time with their many | 2 | | grandchildren and friends; and
| 3 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Murray was preceded in death by his first | 4 | | wife, Janine Morency Murray; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Murray was always close to and is survived by | 6 | | his "big sister" and only sibling, Sister Jean Murray, Order of | 7 | | Preachers, who was the former president of Rosary College, now | 8 | | Dominican University; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Murray is also survived by his wife, Sheila | 10 | | Clements Murray; his children, William (Susie Cahill), David | 11 | | (Donika), and Janine (Steve) Beatty; his grandchildren, David, | 12 | | Alana, John, Michael (Sharyn), Maria, and Katie Murray, | 13 | | Meredith (Jesse) Binkley, Samantha (Austin) Barnes, and | 14 | | Christopher Beatty; his wife's children, Julie (Dan) Harper, | 15 | | Katie (Randy) Tuma, Bill (Julie Plaut), and Mike (Ann McIntyre) | 16 | | Clements; his wife's grandchildren, Nicole, Annie (Matt | 17 | | Slaman), Kelsey, Elise, Ian, Kevin, Dan, Kathleen, Sarah, | 18 | | Janie, Nora, Martin, and Nieve; and his many nieces and | 19 | | nephews; therefore, be it
