| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Frederick S. Carroll of Richmond, who | 4 | | passed away on December 6, 2014; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Frederick Carroll was born on January 3, 1947 in | 6 | | Baltimore, Maryland; his parents were Miles and Mary Louise | 7 | | (nee Steil) Carroll; he married Nancy Neucks on October 18, | 8 | | 1982 in Evansville, Indiana; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Frederick Carroll was a graduate of St. Paul's | 10 | | School in Baltimore in 1965; he later earned his bachelor's | 11 | | degree from American University in Washington, DC, and his | 12 | | master's degree from the American Graduate School of | 13 | | International Management in Arizona; and
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Frederick Carroll served in the United States Army | 15 | | as a specialist during the Vietnam War; he was a recipient of | 16 | | the Combat Infantry Badge and was awarded multiple Purple | 17 | | Hearts; and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, After working as a salesman for Stryker Equipment, | 19 | | Frederick Carroll and his wife formed Merit Medical in McHenry, | 20 | | which they operated for 20 years; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Frederick Carroll was a member and president of | 2 | | the Richmond-Spring Grove Area Rotary Club; he also served as | 3 | | Republican precinct captain for several years; and
| 4 | | WHEREAS, Frederick Carroll enjoyed antique cars and had a | 5 | | keen interest in books, especially ones about history; and | 6 | | WHEREAS, Frederick Carroll is survived by his wife, Nancy; | 7 | | a brother, Thomas (Deb) Carroll; 2 nieces, Erin Sutton and | 8 | | Amanda McClure; a sister-in-law, Jayne (James) Thorne; 2 | 9 | | nieces, Maureen (Aaron) Kauffman and Meredith (Michael) | 10 | | Fleming; and several grand-nieces and grand-nephews, including | 11 | | Hadlee Sutton and Piper and Quinn McClure; therefore, be it
| 12 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | 13 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his | 14 | | family and friends, mourn the passing of Frederick S. Carroll; | 15 | | and be it further
| 16 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 17 | | presented to the family of Frederick Carroll as an expression | 18 | | of our sympathy.
