| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Marion Miner "Rocky" Duffin of Pekin, who | 4 | | passed away on May 31, 2013; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Marion Duffin was born on August 5, 1950, in | 6 | | Peoria to Donald William and Violet America (Fey) Duffin; he | 7 | | married Sharon Rae Stewart on August 1, 1970; and
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Marion Duffin worked as a millwright for | 9 | | Caterpillar Inc. from 1969 to 1992; he was a proud member of, | 10 | | and served as a recording secretary for, United Auto Workers | 11 | | Local 974 and had also served on the board of the UAW Senior | 12 | | Citizens Center in Pekin; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Marion Duffin was dedicated to the youth of his | 14 | | community; he served as a longtime coach for the Pekin Junior | 15 | | Football League and as a member of the Shade Memorial Youth | 16 | | Camp Board and was a member and past president of the Pekin | 17 | | Quarterback Club; he served several terms as a member of the | 18 | | Pekin Park District Board of Commissioners; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Marion Duffin was a member of First Christian | 20 | | Church in Pekin; he was also a member of Pekin Moose Family | 21 | | Center 916, the Pekin Boat Club, Manito Masonic Lodge No. 476, |

| 1 | | Pekin Chapter 25 of the Royal Arch Masons, Pekin Elks Lodge | 2 | | 1271, and was a former member of the Pekin Chapter of AMBUCS; | 3 | | and | 4 | | WHEREAS, Marion Duffin was preceded in death by his | 5 | | parents; and
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Marion Duffin is survived by his wife, Sharon; his | 7 | | sons, Donald James "D.J" (Denise) Duffin and Chad Michael | 8 | | (Michelle) Duffin; his grandchildren, Cole Duffin, Jordan | 9 | | Duffin, Kaylia Duffin, and Cade Duffin; his sister, Joy Lynn | 10 | | Kranz; his mother-in-law, Betty Rogge; his brother-in-law, | 11 | | James (Brenda) Stewart; his sister-in-law, Val (Tony) | 12 | | Nowosielski; and his nieces, Tammy (Fred) Brooks and Tonya | 13 | | (Kenny) Johnson; therefore, be it
| 14 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL | 15 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 16 | | Marion Duffin, and extend our sincere condolences to his | 17 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 18 | | further
