| 1 | | HOUSE RESOLUTION
| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | 3 | | Representatives wish to congratulate the Wood Dale Park | 4 | | District on the occasion of its 50th anniversary on November | 5 | | 18, 2017; and | 6 | | WHEREAS, At the encouragement of the Wood Dale Junior | 7 | | Women's Club and the Wood Dale Club and local leader Jim Mixon, | 8 | | the Wood Dale Park District was formed in November of 1967; | 9 | | land acquisition began in 1968; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Richard J. Fenel donated the parcel of land that | 11 | | is now
Brookwood Park to the Wood Dale Park District in 1968; | 12 | | and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, 1970 saw successful passage of the first Wood Dale | 14 | | Park District tax referendum and
the first affiliate | 15 | | relationship with a school district; and | 16 | | WHEREAS, In 1971, with support from local property | 17 | | taxpayers, the Wood Dale Park District purchased
Hamlin's Pond | 18 | | (Lake Mini-Ha-Ha), Franzen Grove, Terrace Park, and Central | 19 | | Park, and opened the
Fredrick Lester Pool; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, In 1987, the Wood Dale Park District purchased the |

| 1 | | Salt Creek Golf Club, and after capital
improvements, the | 2 | | expanded Salt Creek Golf Course clubhouse facilities began | 3 | | service in 1993, with a
major expansion in 2003, and | 4 | | significant affiliate enhancements by TopGolf Wood Dale | 5 | | starting in 2006; and
| 6 | | WHEREAS, The Wood Dale Park District opened its Recreation | 7 | | Complex in 2001; and
| 8 | | WHEREAS, The Wood Dale Park District Comprehensive | 9 | | Community Action Master Plan was completed
and officially | 10 | | adopted in 2015; therefore, be it
| 11 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | 12 | | HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | 13 | | congratulate the Wood Dale Park District "Active Places, | 14 | | Friendly Faces", on its 50th anniversary; and be it further | 15 | | RESOLVED, That, just as the Wood Dale Park District will | 16 | | carry on for many more years, it will add to the
lifespans of | 17 | | its users through active implementation of its mission | 18 | | statement, "Serving the community with
quality recreational | 19 | | experiences that provide a fun and healthy lifestyle"; and be | 20 | | it further | 21 | | RESOLVED, That we congratulate the fulltime staff and |

| 1 | | volunteer affiliates of the Wood Dale Park District on their
| 2 | | District's 50th anniversary; and be it further
| 3 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be presented to | 4 | | Matthew Ellmann, Executive Director of the Wood
Dale Park | 5 | | District.
