| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Devona A. Foley of Marengo, who passed | 4 | | away on November 24, 2014; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Devona Foley was born in New Athens on July 18, | 6 | | 1923 to Oliver and Elsie (nee Winkler) Laquet; she married | 7 | | Francis J. Foley on November 21, 1942 at St. Mary's Catholic | 8 | | Church in Elgin; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Devona Foley devoted her life to her family; she | 10 | | was a licensed beautician for many years and also worked at | 11 | | Warner Electric in Marengo; in her early years, she was a | 12 | | member of the award-winning Elgin Hawaiian Guitar Band and | 13 | | traveled with the band throughout the United States; and
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Devona Foley was an active member for many years | 15 | | in the Rosarian Council at Sacred Heart Church in Marengo; and | 16 | | WHEREAS, Devona Foley was preceded in death by her husband, | 17 | | Francis; her parents; and her sisters, Dorothy and Carol Mae; | 18 | | and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Devona Foley is survived by her children, Susann | 20 | | (Melvin) Steffen, Michael (Linda) Foley, Phillip (Ellen) |
