| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Ronald K. Ernat of Rock Island, who | 4 | | passed away on April 15, 2019; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Ronald Ernat was born in Peru to Roman and Pearl | 6 | | Jaraczewski Ernat on March 14, 1934; he graduated from St. | 7 | | Ambrose Academy in 1952; he served in the U.S. Army from 1956 | 8 | | to 1958 and married Shirley J. Slayden in Rock Island on | 9 | | November 9, 1957; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Ronald Ernat joined Bricklayers Local #7 in Rock | 11 | | Island in 1955; after his service, he resumed bricklaying until | 12 | | 1965; he then became a construction superintendent for a local | 13 | | contractor, retiring in 1988; and
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Following his retirement, Ronald Ernat resided in | 15 | | Unionville, Missouri for 20 years; he was a talented handyman | 16 | | and built both of his homes; his favorite times were those | 17 | | spent with family and friends visiting in Unionville; he | 18 | | enjoyed fishing, especially with his sons and friends at Lake | 19 | | Erie; he adored his grandchildren; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Ronald Ernat was preceded in death by his wife, | 21 | | Shirley; his parents; his daughters, Susan Watt and Laura Lee |

| 1 | | Ernat; his brothers, Raymond and James "Jake" Ernat; and his | 2 | | sisters, Agnes Soldati and Bernice Dhaemers Filas; and
| 3 | | WHEREAS, Ronald Ernat is survived by his children, Mark | 4 | | (Pam) Ernat, Curtis (Debbie) Ernat, and Paula Ernat; his | 5 | | son-in-law, Doug Watt; his grandchildren, Dillon and Molly | 6 | | Watt; his step-granddaughter, Kathryn (Eric) Strause-Reyes; | 7 | | his step-great-grandchildren, Kierra, Noah, and Eva; his | 8 | | brothers, Harry (Sandy) and Art (Mary) Ernat; and numerous | 9 | | nieces, nephews, and other family; therefore, be it
| 10 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | 11 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 12 | | Ronald K. Ernat and extend our sincere condolences to his | 13 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 14 | | further
| 15 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 16 | | presented to the family of Ronald Ernat as an expression of our | 17 | | deepest sympathy.
