| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Robert O. Taube of Rock Island, who | 4 | | passed away on April 8, 2019; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Robert Taube was born in Geneseo to Albert and | 6 | | Hulda Maetzold Taube on July 19, 1923; he graduated from | 7 | | Geneseo High School in 1941 and Iowa State College in 1951; he | 8 | | served in the United States Navy for three years during World | 9 | | War II in the South Pacific; he married Bernice Elling at | 10 | | Concordia Lutheran Church in Geneseo on January 28, 1951; he | 11 | | later married Jo Ann Van DeVeire at Immanuel Lutheran Church in | 12 | | Rock Island on July 14, 2000; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Robert Taube was employed at John Deere Plow | 14 | | Planter in Moline as a design engineer, retiring in 1982; and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Robert Taube was a member of Immanuel Lutheran | 16 | | Church in Rock Island since 1959, where he served as an | 17 | | officer, sang in the choir, and was the last member of the F | 18 | | Troop; he also participated in the Maple City Band in Geneseo, | 19 | | the New Horizons Band in Davenport, the CASI Band, and numerous | 20 | | other bands throughout the area; and
| 21 | | WHEREAS, Robert Taube was preceded in death by his first |

| 1 | | wife, Bernice; his parents; and all of his siblings; and
| 2 | | WHEREAS, Robert Taube is survived by his wife, JoAnn; his | 3 | | daughter, Rev. Ellen Taube; his brother-in-law, Alan Bamsey; | 4 | | and numerous nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
| 5 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | 6 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 7 | | Robert O. Taube and extend our sincere condolences to his | 8 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 9 | | further
| 10 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 11 | | presented to the family of Robert Taube as an expression of our | 12 | | deepest sympathy.
