| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | 3 | | to learn of the death of Carl L. "Butch" Eckermann of Rock | 4 | | Island, who passed away on February 6, 2021; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Carl Eckermann was born in Rock Island to Kenneth | 6 | | and Barbara (Hall) Eckermann on February 24, 1938; he served | 7 | | in the U.S. Navy; he married Judith A. Ransom in Kahoka, | 8 | | Missouri on February 24, 1955, and she preceded him in death in | 9 | | May of 2019; he cherished his wife, and after her passing, he | 10 | | would visit her gravesite every day; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Carl Eckermann was the owner/operator of | 12 | | Construction Machinery; prior to that, he was a salesman for | 13 | | Jaydon; and
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Carl Eckermann was an avid boater and had a slip | 15 | | at Sunset Marina for over 40 years; he was a jokester and never | 16 | | met a stranger; he never missed his breakfast at McDonald's on | 17 | | 11th Street at 5:30 am every morning; and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Carl Eckermann was preceded in death by his wife, | 19 | | Judith; his parents; and his granddaughter, Ashlyn Marshall; | 20 | | and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Carl Eckermann is survived by his children, Terri | 2 | | (Ken) Reamy, Mike (Lynda) Eckermann, Kim Lindsey, Barb Griese, | 3 | | and Cindy Eckermann; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; | 4 | | and his sisters-in-law, Janice (Rene) Segura and Kitty (Bill) | 5 | | Christman; therefore, be it
| 6 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL | 7 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 8 | | Carl L. "Butch" Eckermann and extend our sincere condolences | 9 | | to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be | 10 | | it further
| 11 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 12 | | presented to the family of Carl Eckermann as an expression of | 13 | | our deepest sympathy.
