| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | 3 | | to learn of the death of Eugene "Gene" McCluskey of Deerfield, | 4 | | who passed away on June 19, 2021; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Gene McCluskey was born on September 9, 1956; he | 6 | | was the son of Eugene and Marilyn McCluskey and the brother to | 7 | | Mary Ellen, Kathy, Pat, Terri, Joe, and Gerry; and
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Gene McCluskey was an accomplished lawyer and | 9 | | dealmaker, who truly cherished all the relationships he made | 10 | | during his career; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Gene McCluskey enjoyed summer concerts at | 12 | | Ravinia, ballgames at Wrigley Field, and escaping the cold to | 13 | | his home in Naples, Florida; he loved a good joke and enjoyed | 14 | | spending time planning elaborate tricks on his 16 nieces and | 15 | | nephews; and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Gene McCluskey was known for being a strong man | 17 | | with a big heart, who never met a stranger; he never let his | 18 | | diagnosis slow him down, and he used his own experience to help | 19 | | mentor and inspire others who shared his type of cancer; he | 20 | | will be missed; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Gene McCluskey was preceded in death by his wife | 2 | | of 30 years, Maryellen, and his parents; and
| 3 | | WHEREAS, Gene McCluskey is survived by his son, Michael E. | 4 | | McCluskey; his daughter-in-law, Blair McCluskey; and his furry | 5 | | grandson, Otis McCluskey; therefore, be it
| 6 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL | 7 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 8 | | Eugene "Gene" McCluskey and extend our sincere condolences to | 9 | | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 10 | | further
| 11 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 12 | | presented to the family of Gene McCluskey as an expression of | 13 | | our deepest sympathy.
