1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives of the State of Illinois were saddened to
4 learn of the death of Derrick Anthony Brown on May 1, 2003;
5 and
6 WHEREAS, Derrick Anthony Brown was born on January 4,
7 1962 in Chicago, the son of Anna and Hooker Brown; and
8 WHEREAS, He was a well loved person who was easy going, a
9 pleasure to be with, easy to talk to and always willing to
10 lend a helping hand when possible; Derrick was also a loving,
11 caring and devoted father; and
12 WHEREAS, Derrick Brown attended Providence St. Mel High
13 School and graduated from Glenbard East High School in
14 Lombard; he also attended the College of DuPage in Glen
15 Ellyn; and
16 WHEREAS, Derrick Brown worked for ten years in the
17 Printing Industry, spending seven years with Wallace
18 Computers Colorform Division in Elk Grove Village; and
19 WHEREAS, The passing of Derrick Anthony Brown has been
20 deeply felt by all who knew him, especially his significant
21 other of twenty years, Damita Franklin; his son, Quinton; his
22 daughter, Morgan Brown; his mother, Anna Brown; his father,
23 Hooker Brown (wife, Lois); his brothers, Michael and Brian
24 Brown; his uncles, Donald Anthony, Wims Brewer, and Arnold
25 Brown; his aunts, Nancy Watkins, Irene Bradford, Joyce
26 Phillips, and Marsha Anthony; his aunt, Fannie Brown; and
27 many cousins, relatives and friends; he also leaves behind,
28 Barbara Franklin, Roosevelt and Elnora Taylor, and Kyle
29 Smith; therefore, be it
30 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
31 NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that

1 we mourn the passing of Derrick Anthony Brown and express our
2 sincere and deepest sympathy to his family and friends; and
3 be it further
4 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
5 presented to the family of Derrick Anthony Brown as an
6 expression of our condolences during their time of
7 bereavement.
