| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | 3 | | to learn of the death of D. Jack May of Moline, who passed away | 4 | | on June 22, 2021; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Jack May was born to Don and JoAnn (Simpson) May | 6 | | in Fairfield, Iowa on January 1, 1954; he married his high | 7 | | school sweetheart Joyce Sirfus in Des Moines, Iowa on March | 8 | | 16, 1973; he proudly served in the U.S. Air Force; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Jack May had a career in hydraulic/pneumatic | 10 | | engineering with positions in five different states; he | 11 | | retired from Iowa Fluid Power in October of 2018; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Jack May was an active member and elder of South | 13 | | Park Presbyterian Church; he belonged to the Gold Wing Touring | 14 | | Association and served in many leadership roles; he | 15 | | volunteered with the Mississippi Bend Trykes, building | 16 | | specialty bikes for kids; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Jack May enjoyed golfing, woodworking, and riding | 18 | | the open road with his friends; family was the most important | 19 | | thing to him, especially his beloved grandchildren; he loved a | 20 | | good game night full of jokes and laughter; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Jack May was preceded in death by his parents and | 2 | | his sister, Linda Snell; and
| 3 | | WHEREAS, Jack May is survived by his wife of 48 years, | 4 | | Joyce; his children, Jennifer (Aaron) Shannon, Jason (Rian) | 5 | | May, and Melissa Snell-Christen; his six grandchildren; and | 6 | | his sister, Nancy Hayter; therefore, be it
| 7 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL | 8 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 9 | | D. Jack May and extend our sincere condolences to his family, | 10 | | friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
| 11 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 12 | | presented to the family of Jack May as an expression of our | 13 | | deepest sympathy.
