| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Wallace D. "Wally" Furrow of El Paso, who | 4 | | passed away on April 27, 2019; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Wally Furrow was born in rural El Paso to Caldwell | 6 | | B. and Alma Duncan Furrow on January 18, 1933; he married | 7 | | Lorene Bess in El Paso on August 4, 1953 and served in the | 8 | | United States Army during the Korean War from 1953 to 1955 in | 9 | | the 82nd Airborne; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Wally Furrow was the owner and operator of El Paso | 11 | | Grain, Sun Ag Inc., Furrow Winery, and Furrow Trucking, all in | 12 | | El Paso; he farmed all his life and worked with his son and | 13 | | grandson at Furrow Farms for the last several years; and
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Wally Furrow was the state director of USDA Rural | 15 | | Development; he was a past president of the Illinois Feed and | 16 | | Grain Association and the Illinois Wine Association; he served | 17 | | and participated in many professional and community | 18 | | organizations; and | 19 | | WHEREAS, Wally Furrow was a loving husband, father, | 20 | | grandfather, and great-grandfather; he loved nothing more than | 21 | | providing for and spending time with his family; he was a |

| 1 | | member of the Community Bible Fellowship in El Paso; he had a | 2 | | great zest for life and lived it to the absolute fullest; and
| 3 | | WHEREAS, Wally Furrow was preceded in death by his parents; | 4 | | his son, Dennis Furrow; and his sister, Shirley Toole; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Wally Furrow is survived by his wife, Lorene; his | 6 | | son, Wayne (Annette) Furrow; his daughter, Lori (Brad) | 7 | | Smitheram; his sister, Judy Stimpert; 10 grandchildren; and 14 | 8 | | great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
| 9 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | 10 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 11 | | Wallace D. "Wally" Furrow and extend our sincere condolences to | 12 | | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 13 | | further
