| HOUSE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, Marilyn Sindles was elected Village of Mundelein | 3 |
| Trustee in 1987; and
| 4 |
| WHEREAS, She was elected Mayor of Mundelein in 1989, 1993, | 5 |
| 1997, and 2001; and
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, For the past 18 years, she has served with | 7 |
| distinction not only the citizens of Mundelein, but all the | 8 |
| citizens of Illinois though her intergovernmental and | 9 |
| interagency service; and
| 10 |
| WHEREAS, Such service has included appointment to the | 11 |
| Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board five | 12 |
| times since 1992 by Governors Ryan and Blagojevich; and
| 13 |
| WHEREAS, She served as Chairman of the Illinois Law | 14 |
| Enforcement
Training and Standards Board from 1999 to 2001, | 15 |
| Chairman of the Central Lake County Joint Action Water Agency | 16 |
| from 2001 to 2003, President of the Lake County Municipal | 17 |
| League Board of Directors, and Vice-President of the Lake | 18 |
| County Chapter of Wings; and
| 19 |
| WHEREAS, She is presently serving on the Central Lake | 20 |
| County Joint Action Water Agency, Lake County Stormwater | 21 |
| Management Agency, Solid Waste Agency of Lake County, Lake | 22 |
| County Municipal League, Board of Directors of the Green | 23 |
| Oaks/Libertyville/Mundelein/Vernon Hills Chamber of Commerce, | 24 |
| along with other professional and civic organizations too | 25 |
| numerous to name; and
| 26 |
| WHEREAS, Through her leadership and direction, the quality | 27 |
| of life for all Village of
Mundelein residents has been | 28 |
| significantly improved by her leadership of the Mundelein
Task | 29 |
| Force and Project CAPE, Lake County Fighting Back, and National |

| Night Out anti-crime efforts; and
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, The quality of Village of Mundelein drinking water | 3 |
| has been dramatically improved through the introduction of Lake | 4 |
| Michigan water, and Village of Mundelein stormwater issues have | 5 |
| been virtually eliminated through the construction of numerous | 6 |
| detention and retention facilities; and
| 7 |
| WHEREAS, Through Marilyn Sindles' outstanding leadership | 8 |
| and direction, the professionalism and training of Village of | 9 |
| Mundelein staff and Department Heads has increased, antiquated | 10 |
| police, fire, public works, and wastewater treatment | 11 |
| facilities have been replaced, and the Village of Mundelein has | 12 |
| been recognized frequently for its leadership in municipal | 13 |
| government; therefore, be it

| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | 15 |
| NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | 16 |
| we extend our deep appreciation and grateful recognition to | 17 |
| Marilyn Sindles for her dedication and devotion to the Village | 18 |
| of
Mundelein and the people of Illinois through her service as | 19 |
| Mayor of Mundelein; and be it further
| 20 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 21 |
| presented to Marilyn Sindles as an expression of our admiration | 22 |
| and esteem.
