| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | 3 | | to learn of the death of Pearline Wiley of Chicago; and
| 4 | | WHEREAS, Pearline Wiley was born in Clacks, Mississippi to | 5 | | Walter and Ethel McIntosh on January 29, 1932; she relocated | 6 | | to Memphis, Tennessee, where she met Johnny Wiley and they had | 7 | | six children; she later relocated to Chicago, where she took | 8 | | up permanent residence; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Pearline Wiley became deeply committed to her | 10 | | faith at an early age in Clacks, Mississippi; after relocating | 11 | | to Chicago, she joined the Church of Christ located on 198 | 12 | | South Spaulding Avenue; she later joined the Helping Hand M.B. | 13 | | Church under the leadership of Reverend and Founder Joseph B. | 14 | | Kelly, where she served faithfully and was honored to be the | 15 | | last surviving Adams Street member; she served the church in | 16 | | various positions, including as superintendent of the Sunday | 17 | | school, supervisor of the children's choir, teacher, and choir | 18 | | member; she was a member of the Beautifying Club, the Pastor | 19 | | Aide Club, the Ways and Means Committee, and the Missionary | 20 | | Society; and
| 21 | | WHEREAS, Pearline Wiley was known for being very outspoken | 22 | | and stern but loving when offering words of wisdom; she |

| 1 | | commanded respect, which gave way to loving her | 2 | | unconditionally; she sowed the seeds of love and reaped a | 3 | | harvest of love in her lifetime; she will be missed; | 4 | | therefore, be it
| 5 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL | 6 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 7 | | Pearline Wiley and extend our sincere condolences to her | 8 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | 9 | | further
| 10 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 11 | | presented to the family of Pearline Wiley as an expression of | 12 | | our deepest sympathy.
