| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Richard Charles "Dick" Day of Crystal | 4 | | Lake, who passed away on April 9, 2017; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Richard Day was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to | 6 | | Gordon F. Day Sr. and Mary Ann Day on January 16, 1950; he grew | 7 | | up in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin where he earned his Eagle Scout | 8 | | rank and swam for his high school swim team; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Richard Day worked for the West Bend Company for | 10 | | over 30 years; he covered sales territories in North Carolina, | 11 | | Texas, Georgia, and finally, Illinois as Director of National | 12 | | Accounts; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Richard Day served on the board of the Delta | 14 | | Upsilon Alumni Association to support the organization that had | 15 | | given him so much during college; he was a devoted member of | 16 | | the Crystal Lake Country Club, promoting and carrying out many | 17 | | of its programs and efforts; he loved being on the golf course | 18 | | and slinging his clubs on his back walking alongside his | 19 | | buddies in Ireland; and | 20 | | WHEREAS, Richard Day was one of a kind; he loved making his | 21 | | wife laugh, inspiring his daughter to try different adventures, |

| 1 | | and sharing stories with his grandchildren; he was a loyal | 2 | | friend, a great entertainer, and was happiest sitting in the | 3 | | stands at Camp Randall Stadium in Madison, Wisconsin cheering | 4 | | on the University of Wisconsin Badgers; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Richard Day was preceded in death by his parents; | 6 | | and
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Richard Day is survived by his loving wife of 42 | 8 | | years, Aimee; his daughter, Beth (Tim) Lawrence; his | 9 | | grandchildren, Timmy and Charlotte Lawrence; his brother, | 10 | | Gordon F. Jr. (Constance) Day; his nieces, Elizabeth (Chris) | 11 | | Casey, and Lindsey Day; his great-nephews, Andrew and Gavin | 12 | | Casey; and many loving relatives and friends; therefore, be it
| 13 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | 14 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 15 | | Richard Charles "Dick" Day, and extend our sincere condolences | 16 | | to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be | 17 | | it further | 18 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 19 | | presented to the family of Richard Day as an expression of our | 20 | | deepest sympathy.
