| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | 3 | | to learn of the death of Carl Ray McDonald of Granite City, who | 4 | | passed away on August 19, 2021; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Carl McDonald was born in Granite City to Thomas | 6 | | and Lela Fern (Alexander) McDonald on October 8, 1937; he | 7 | | served in the U.S. Army; he married Carol F. Miller, and she | 8 | | preceded him in death on March 29, 2021; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Carl McDonald was a chemist for United States | 10 | | Steel; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Carl McDonald was a past member of Calvary | 12 | | Baptist Church in Granite City, where he served as the choir | 13 | | director; he was an active member of Granite City Masonic | 14 | | Lodge #835 and the Scottish Rite in Belleville; he was an | 15 | | outdoorsman who was a member of Ducks Unlimited and the NRA, | 16 | | and he enjoyed tracking migratory waterfowl as well as hunting | 17 | | ducks and geese; he also had a talent for duck calling; he was | 18 | | an avid fisherman, an expert woodworker, and a member of | 19 | | S.O.A.R.; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Carl McDonald was well known as a very giving and | 21 | | selfless person who was willing to help anyone in need; he |

| 1 | | loved his family most of all and will be remembered for all the | 2 | | special times he shared with them; and
| 3 | | WHEREAS, Carl McDonald was preceded in death by his | 4 | | parents; his wife; and his sister, Barbara Modrusic; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Carl McDonald is survived by his daughter, Laura | 6 | | Meehan; his son, Kelly McDonald and Jim Davis; his | 7 | | granddaughter, Erika Meehan; his brother, Roger McDonald; and | 8 | | his dogs, Sparky and Abby; therefore, be it
| 9 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL | 10 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 11 | | Carl Ray McDonald and extend our sincere condolences to his | 12 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 13 | | further
| 14 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 15 | | presented to the family of Carl McDonald as an expression of | 16 | | our deepest sympathy.
