| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Paul L. Cook of Milan, who passed away on | 4 | | May 7, 2017; and | 5 | | WHEREAS, Paul Cook was born in Lauratown, Arkansas to Paul | 6 | | Cook and Lela Johnson Cook on April 6, 1943; he served in the | 7 | | United States Army in Korea and married Holly Krueger; he then | 8 | | married Neva McKinley in Union County on April 13, 1993; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Paul Cook worked for the J.I. Case Company (now | 10 | | Case Corporation) for 30 years until his retirement in 1994; | 11 | | and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Paul Cook was a member of First Landmark | 13 | | Missionary Baptist Church in Rock Island, the Milan American | 14 | | Legion Post No. 569, and the Rock Island Conservation Club; he | 15 | | served on the board of directors for the J.I. Case Credit | 16 | | Union, the J.I. Case Safety Committee, and the executive board | 17 | | of 806; and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Paul Cook enjoyed gardening, fishing, and | 19 | | spending time with his grandchildren; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Paul Cook was preceded in death by his parents and |

| 1 | | his brothers, Ruben, Burley, and Charles; and
| 2 | | WHEREAS, Paul Cook is survived by his wife, Neva; his | 3 | | daughter, Teresa Pardee; his stepchildren, William McKinley | 4 | | Jr., Mary (Alan) Taulbee, Faith Dykes, Pauline Dick (Chuck | 5 | | Dole), and Kevin (Julie) McKinley; his 15 grandchildren; his 10 | 6 | | great-grandchildren; his sisters, Letha Elliott, Anna (Ed) | 7 | | Weinert, and Phyllis Munoz; and several nieces and nephews; | 8 | | therefore, be it
| 9 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | 10 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 11 | | Paul L. Cook, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, | 12 | | friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further | 13 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 14 | | presented to the family of Paul Cook as an expression of our | 15 | | deepest sympathy.
