| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Samuel Oginni of Crystal Lake, who passed | 4 | | away on August 10, 2013; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Samuel Oginni was born on March 21, 1954, in | 6 | | Nigeria to Titus and Dorcas Oginni; he immigrated to the United | 7 | | States and settled in Minnesota; he received his undergraduate | 8 | | degree from Bemiji State University and his Master's Degree in | 9 | | Business from Morehead State University; he married Sally | 10 | | MacArthur on May 8, 1982, in Morehead, Minnesota; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Samuel Oginni worked as a salesman and eventually | 12 | | relocated to Crystal Lake, where he became the owner of Crystal | 13 | | Lake Pontiac GMC in 1995, which he owned until 2011; and
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Samuel Oginni liked to give back to his community; | 15 | | he established a scholarship at his church in 2001 and became | 16 | | the first car dealer to donate a car to Operation Click, a | 17 | | program to raise the awareness of the benefits of seat belt | 18 | | use; he was an active member of the local Rotary Club from 1995 | 19 | | to 2011; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Samuel Oginni enjoyed taking family vacations and | 21 | | practicing soccer with his children; he was an avid Minnesota |

| 1 | | Vikings fan; and | 2 | | WHEREAS, Samuel Oginni was preceded in death by his | 3 | | parents; and
| 4 | | WHEREAS, Samuel Oginni is survived by his wife, Sally; his | 5 | | children, Rachel (Steve) Dumas and Rebecca and Samuel Oginni; | 6 | | his siblings, Adedemidun, Adesola, Ademalola, Adelola, | 7 | | Adefemi, and Adeboyega; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews; | 8 | | therefore, be it
| 9 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL | 10 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 11 | | Samuel Oginni, and extend our sincere condolences to his | 12 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 13 | | further
| 14 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 15 | | presented to the family of Samuel Oginni as an expression of | 16 | | our deepest sympathy.
