| HOUSE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | 3 |
| Representatives are pleased to congratulate the Statesmen, the | 4 |
| men's basketball team from Lincoln Trail College in Robinson on | 5 |
| winning the NJCAA Division I Region 24 championship; and
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, The Statesmen upset top-seeded and 6th-ranked | 7 |
| John A. Logan College with a final score of 93-83 on March 9; | 8 |
| they defeated second-seeded Southeastern Illinois College with | 9 |
| a final score of 81-72 on March 10 to claim the tournament | 10 |
| title at Rend Lake College in Ina; and
| 11 |
| WHEREAS, The Statesmen are known for 3-point shooting and | 12 |
| made eight 3-pointers against Southeastern Illinois, nine | 13 |
| 3-pointers against John A. Logan in the March 9 semifinal game, | 14 |
| and 13 3-pointers against Wabash Valley College in the Region | 15 |
| 24 tournament opener; and
| 16 |
| WHEREAS, Through hard work and perseverance, the Statesmen | 17 |
| have earned this hard-fought championship; and

| WHEREAS, The Statesmen Head Coach is Junsie Cotton;
and the | 19 |
| Assistant Coaches are Stetson Hairston, Mike Billingsly, and | 20 |
| Chris Brooks; and
