| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Warren R. Watkins, who passed away on | 4 | | September 7, 2013; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Warren Watkins was born on December 31, 1944 in | 6 | | Peoria; his parents were Russell and Marian (Richart) Watkins; | 7 | | he was a lifelong resident of Peoria; and
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Warren Watkins graduated from Richwoods Community | 9 | | High School in 1962; he then attended Bradley University, where | 10 | | he joined the Sigma Chi fraternity and served as Rush Chairman | 11 | | and Song Chairman; he subsequently graduated from Parsons | 12 | | College; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Warren Watkins served his country as a member of | 14 | | the Illinois Army National Guard and achieved the rank of | 15 | | Sergeant; and | 16 | | WHEREAS, Warren Watkins was the owner and operator of | 17 | | Illinois Valley Glass and Mirror, Inc., a business started by | 18 | | his father in 1951; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Warren Watkins was a member of the First Federated | 20 | | Church, the Country Club of Peoria, the IVY Club, the Creve |

| 1 | | Coeur Club, the Sigma Chi Alumni Association, and the Peoria | 2 | | Housing Authority Board; and | 3 | | WHEREAS, Warren Watkins and his wife enjoyed their second | 4 | | home and friends in the Northwoods of Wisconsin at Presque | 5 | | Isle; he also enjoyed music, the arts, the outdoors, boating, | 6 | | fishing, and hunting; and
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Warren Watkins was preceded in death by his | 8 | | parents and his nephew; and | 9 | | WHEREAS, Warren Watkins is survived by his wife, Mary Allen | 10 | | Watkins; his daughter, Melinda; his sister, Cheryl Sullivan; | 11 | | and his many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
| 12 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL | 13 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his | 14 | | family and friends, mourn the passing of Warren R. Watkins; and | 15 | | be it further
| 16 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 17 | | presented to the family of Warren Watkins as an expression of | 18 | | our sympathy.
