| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | 3 | | to learn of the death of Mark Scott McCollom, who passed away | 4 | | on September 20, 2021 at the age of 64; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Mark McCollom was born on June 18, 1957; and
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Mark McCollom was an alumnus of Loyola | 7 | | University; and | 8 | | WHEREAS, Mark McCollom was affectionately called "The | 9 | | Voice of the Raiders", announcing football games for the Most | 10 | | Holy Redeemer Parish football team in Evergreen Park; and | 11 | | WHEREAS, Mark McCollom abided by the faith in action | 12 | | principle; he was a board member of Chicago Catholic Charities | 13 | | and was co-founder of the Monsignor Boland Chicago Catholic | 14 | | Charities Golf Outing in the late 1990s, raising millions of | 15 | | dollars for the poor and homeless; and | 16 | | WHEREAS, Mark McCollom spearheaded community efforts to | 17 | | acquire and install the Evergreen Park High School football | 18 | | lights and the Duffy Park scoreboard and lights; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Mark McCollom valued family above all and could |

| 1 | | be counted on to donate the "shirt off his back" to help others | 2 | | in need; and
| 3 | | WHEREAS, Mark McCollom was preceded in death by his | 4 | | parents, Walter and Merle; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Mark McCollom is survived by his best friend and | 6 | | wife of 40 years, Julie Ann Shalloo McCollom; his children, | 7 | | Kevin (fiance Lynette Gallo), Megan (Cpt. Daniel Durham, | 8 | | USAF), and Ryan (girlfriend Jordan Butkus); his grandchildren, | 9 | | Molly McCollom and Charlotte and Max Durham; his siblings, | 10 | | Walter R. "Terry" (Kay) MCollom Jr., Madonna (Tim) Ashe, and | 11 | | Carol (Mike) Boyce; and his many nephews and nieces, | 12 | | colleagues, and friends; therefore, be it
| 13 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL | 14 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 15 | | Mark Scott McCollom and extend our sincere condolences to his | 16 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 17 | | further
