| 1 | | HOUSE RESOLUTION
| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | 3 | | Representatives wish to congratulate William G. "Bill" White on | 4 | | the occasion of his retirement as a firefighter for the | 5 | | Bartlett Fire Protection District; and
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Bill White was born in Chicago on February 6, | 7 | | 1955, right across the street from a firehouse; while growing | 8 | | up, his mom
would take him over to the firehouse and it became | 9 | | a childhood dream of his to become a fireman; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Bill White graduated from Larkin High School in | 11 | | Elgin in 1972 and attended the fire academy in Streamwood in | 12 | | 1983; he served with the Bartlett Fire Protection District from | 13 | | 1990 to 2017; in 1992, he became an EMT and throughout his | 14 | | career he took many additional classes and received numerous
| 15 | | certificates; and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, In 2001, Bill White married Shirley; he has one | 17 | | daughter, Stephanie, a sister, Cindy, and a brother, Jim; his
| 18 | | best friend is his dog, Gizmo; his mother, Arlene, has always | 19 | | provided her support and Bill has never forgotten the look of | 20 | | pride on his dad's face when he
graduated from the academy; he | 21 | | has a card of his dad that he keeps in his gear
and when he | 22 | | looks up he still sees the proud look in his father's eyes; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Bill White became interested in graphic design in | 2 | | 1974 when it was noted that he had the best handwriting around; | 3 | | he started crafting signs
and artwork, but lately vinyl | 4 | | graphics have been most requested; he has created many of the | 5 | | graphics around the firehouse and on some of the local | 6 | | ambulances and fire engines; he enjoys seeing them pass by | 7 | | knowing he did the artwork; and
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Bill White loved being able to help people in the | 9 | | community during their worst times and says the brotherhood in
| 10 | | the fire department is like no other; he says it has been a | 11 | | great career and he will miss the job and all his brothers and | 12 | | sisters
with the department; therefore, be it
| 13 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | 14 | | HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | 15 | | congratulate William G. "Bill" White on his retirement as a | 16 | | firefighter, and we wish him many happy years in retirement; | 17 | | and be it further
| 18 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 19 | | presented to Bill White as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
