| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Arthur "Art" Love, Jr., who passed away | 4 | | on May 27, 2015; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Art Love, Jr. was born in Chicago on April 28, | 6 | | 1957 to Arthur Love, Sr. and Thelma Steele-Love; he attended | 7 | | John Hay Community Academy and Prosser Vocational High School, | 8 | | graduating in 1975; he attended Oakland Community
College, | 9 | | where he majored in Material Warehouse Management; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Art Love, Jr. worked at the Leaf candy company for | 11 | | several years; he later worked at Barilla in logistics; he | 12 | | became a licensed minister and served in ministry for years, | 13 | | impacting many lives; he served on the
board at Calvary | 14 | | Redemption Center; and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Art Love, Jr. was affectionately known as "Jim
| 16 | | Dandy" by many of his relatives; he was an avid sport | 17 | | enthusiast; his favorite sports were 16-inch softball and | 18 | | bowling; he loved bowling and was close to going pro, averaging | 19 | | over 215; he was an excellent dancer and competed in many
| 20 | | contests around Chicago; he took pleasure in reading and he | 21 | | constantly read books that encouraged growth and
wisdom; and |

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Art Love, Jr. married Deborah on August 6, 2011; | 2 | | and
| 3 | | WHEREAS, Art Love, Jr. was preceded in death by his | 4 | | parents, and his sister, Sharon Love-Marshall; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Art Love, Jr. is survived by his devoted wife, | 6 | | Deborah; his loving daughters, Martiza, Ava (Garrett), Akira, | 7 | | and
Latara; his 3 grandsons, Garrett, Mason, and James (KJ); | 8 | | his loving brother, Lynn (Cynthia); his 2 beautiful aunts,
| 9 | | Berta Lightford and Juanita Kennamore; and a host of nieces,
| 10 | | nephews, cousins, friends, and co-workers; therefore, be it
| 11 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | 12 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 13 | | Arthur "Art" Love, Jr., and extend our sincere condolences to | 14 | | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 15 | | further
| 16 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 17 | | presented to the family of Art Love, Jr. as an expression of | 18 | | our deepest sympathy.
