| SENATE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 |
| learn of the death of
James G. "Jim" McNish of Sandwich, who | 4 |
| passed away on April 9, 2008; and
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, James G. McNish was born on January 24, 1926 in | 6 |
| Crystal Lake on his family's farm; he was the son of John D. | 7 |
| and Alice (Mason) McNish; he married Jeanne Mitchell on | 8 |
| September 30, 1950 in Elburn; and
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, James G. McNish was a veteran of the United States | 10 |
| Navy during World War II; and
| 11 |
| WHEREAS, James G. McNish became a farm implement mechanic | 12 |
| in 1952 for Thomas and Carlson Implement of Batavia; he | 13 |
| relocated to McAllister's Implement in Sandwich, and then | 14 |
| worked for Yorkville Equipment until his retirement in 1989; he | 15 |
| continued his services of repair work for various farmers and | 16 |
| friends until his unfortunate passing; and
| 17 |
| WHEREAS, James G. McNish enjoyed many years of following | 18 |
| car racing; his greatest passion was truck and tractor pulling, | 19 |
| of which his grandsons compete; he would constantly be seen at | 20 |
| all the farm sales, conversing with his friends; and

| WHEREAS, James G. McNish was a member of the V.F.W. Post | 2 |
| 1197 in Batavia and the American Legion Post 395 in Plano; and
| 3 |
| WHEREAS, James G. McNish was preceded in death by his | 4 |
| father and step-mother, John and Viola McNish; his mother and | 5 |
| step-father, Alice and Burl Roller; his brothers, Bob and Don | 6 |
| McNish; and his step-sister, Lois McElavian; and | 7 |
| WHEREAS, James G. McNish is survived by his wife of 57 | 8 |
| years, Jeanne; his daughter, Kimberly (Bernie) Frieders; his | 9 |
| grandsons, Chad (Tara) Frieders and Scott Frieders; his | 10 |
| great-grandson, Payton Michael Frieders; his | 11 |
| great-granddaughter, Bailey Marie Frieders; his brothers, Ted | 12 |
| and Jack McNish; his sister, Donna (Jack) Braidman; his | 13 |
| sister-in-law, Betty McNish; and his several nieces and | 14 |
| nephews; therefore, be it

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL | 16 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | 17 |
| his family and friends, the passing of James G. "Jim" McNish; | 18 |
| and be it further
| 19 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 20 |
| presented to the family of James G. McNish as an expression of | 21 |
| our sympathy.
