| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | 3 | | Representatives are pleased to recognize the Lade brothers of | 4 | | Essex on their history of service to the United States | 5 | | military; and
| 6 | | WHEREAS, The term "military family" has never been more | 7 | | appropriate than when applied to the 9 Lade brothers, all of | 8 | | whom served in the military from World War II through the | 9 | | Korean Conflict; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, The Lade brothers are Glendon Sylvester Lade, | 11 | | January 22, 1917-November 5, 2008, enlisted January 9, 1945, | 12 | | served in the Navy; Delmar Anthony Lade, born September 2, | 13 | | 1919, enlisted May 5, 1942, served in the United States Army | 14 | | Air Corps; Cecil Merril Lade, October 8, 1921-November 1, 1991, | 15 | | enlisted May 10, 1944-January 6, 1946, served in the Marine | 16 | | Corps; Archie Henry Lade, April 1, 1923-July 31, 2001, enlisted | 17 | | March 6, 1943-March 11, 1946, served in the U.S. Army during | 18 | | World War II and the Korean War; Stanley Robert Lade, | 19 | | 1925-April 30, 1945, killed in action, Purple Heart recipient, | 20 | | served in the U.S. Army during World War II; William Howard | 21 | | Lade, July 21, 1926-November 1, 2009, served in the U.S. Army | 22 | | during World War II and the Korean War; Herbert Edward Lade, | 23 | | June 8, 1929-March 25, 1984, enlisted November 24, 1948-August |

| 5 | | WHEREAS, The Essex Historical Museum contains a wall | 6 | | dedicated to all of the town's residents who served in the | 7 | | military; although the wall includes numerous people, 9 | 8 | | pictures along one row depict the Lade brothers in honor of | 9 | | their family's service to the United States; therefore, be it
| 10 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | 11 | | NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | 12 | | we recognize the Lade brothers, honor their service to their | 13 | | country's military, and thank them for their devotion to the | 14 | | United States; and be it further
| 15 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 16 | | presented to The Essex Historical Museum as an expression of | 17 | | our esteem and respect.
