| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Harrison "Gene" Willis of Vernon Hills, | 4 | | who passed away on September 28, 2013; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Harrison Willis was born in Ellington, Missouri to | 6 | | George and Grace Willis; he served in World War II and was a | 7 | | veteran of the "Battle of the Bulge" with the 87th Infantry, | 8 | | Golden Acorn Division; he was a retired Senior Chief Petty | 9 | | Officer in the Naval Reserves; he retired from the Great Lakes | 10 | | Naval Training Center as Chief Crane Operator; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Harrison Willis had a passion for automobiles and | 12 | | he was the former secretary and treasurer of the Lake County, | 13 | | Illinois Corvette Club; he also enjoyed painting and singing; | 14 | | and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Harrison Willis was preceded in death by his first | 16 | | wife, Georgia (nee Shelby) Willis; his second wife, Katherine | 17 | | (nee Corzine) Willis; his parents; and his siblings, Lois, | 18 | | Hazel, Volley, Lewis, and Shirley; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Harrison Willis is survived by his children, Joyce | 20 | | (Michael) Wade, Rita (James) Bero, and Steven (Billie Jean) | 21 | | Willis; his grandchildren, Brent (Cynthia) Wade, Eddie (Mindy) |
