| SENATE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 |
| learn of the death of
Fern Ellen Page of Shelbyville, who | 4 |
| passed away on April 13, 2008; and
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Fern Ellen Page was born on July 7, 1923 in | 6 |
| Clarksburg; she was the daughter of Frank Thomas and Sylvia | 7 |
| Susan Bivins Wheat; she married Nile Wendall Page on November | 8 |
| 22, 1945; and
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, Fern Ellen Page graduated from Shelbyville High | 10 |
| School with the Class of 1941; she worked as a cook in the | 11 |
| Shelbyville Schools until her retirement; and
| 12 |
| WHEREAS, Fern Ellen Page was a member of the Fourth Street | 13 |
| United Methodist Church in Shelbyville and a former member of | 14 |
| Clarksburg United Methodist Church; she was also a member of | 15 |
| the Kaskaskia Boat Club and a charter member of Ladies of the | 16 |
| Moose 1325 and Eagles Lodge 4395, all of Shelbyville; and
| 17 |
| WHEREAS, Fern Ellen Page was an active member of the Shelby | 18 |
| County Democratic Party and was an avid bingo player; and
| 19 |
| WHEREAS, Fern Ellen Page was preceded in death by her | 20 |
| parents; her stepfather, Selby Hopkins; and her stepsister, |

| WHEREAS, Fern Ellen Page is survived by her husband, Nile; | 3 |
| her sons, Tommy Stuart Page and Dennis Lynn Page; her three | 4 |
| grandsons, Derek, Dane, and Grant Page; her stepsisters, Gene | 5 |
| Arganbright, June Norfleet, and Retha Townsend; and her | 6 |
| stepbrothers, Kenneth Hopkins and Dale Hopkins; therefore, be | 7 |
| it

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL | 9 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | 10 |
| her family and friends, the passing of Fern Ellen Page; and be | 11 |
| it further
| 12 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 13 |
| presented to the family of Fern Ellen Page as an expression of | 14 |
| our sympathy.
