| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of John E. May of Woodstock, who passed away | 4 | | on November 10, 2013; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, John May was born November 8, 1935 in Spring | 6 | | Grove; his parents were Edmund and Rose (nee Jung) May; he | 7 | | married Nancy Porpe on November 29, 1959 at St. Mary Catholic | 8 | | Church in Woodstock; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, John May served his country as a member of the | 10 | | United States Army from October of 1954 until August of 1956; | 11 | | he served as a Postmaster during the Korean War; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, John May worked as a dairy farmer for 49 years and | 13 | | bred red and white Holsteins; and
| 14 | | WHEREAS, John May was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church | 15 | | in Woodstock and St. Patrick Catholic Church in Hartland for | 16 | | many years; he was also a member of the Harvard Moose Club and | 17 | | the Knights of Columbus; and | 18 | | WHEREAS, John May was preceded in death by his parents; his | 19 | | sisters, Barbara Hendricks and Susan (James) Cameron; and his | 20 | | son-in-law, Ken Foster; and

Foster; | 3 | | his grandchildren, Hannah and Elizabeth May; his brothers, Tony | 4 | | (Ann) May and Gordin May (Char Hansen); his sisters, Ann (Tom) | 5 | | Lalor, Mary (Butch) Leonard, and Rose (Ronald) Traven; and his | 6 | | brothers-in-law, Roger (Kathy) Porpe and Jerry Henricks; | 7 | | therefore, be it
| 8 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL | 9 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his | 10 | | family and friends, mourn the passing of John E. May; and be it | 11 | | further
