| 1 | | SENATE RESOLUTION | 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | 3 | | to learn of the death of Margo Jean Hurley of Elmhurst, | 4 | | formerly of Lincoln, who passed away on December 21, 2023; and | 5 | | WHEREAS, Margo Hurley was born to James M. and Lulu | 6 | | "Katherine" Harvey in Witt on April 18, 1938; she graduated | 7 | | from Lincoln High School in 1956, where she was a member of the | 8 | | cheerleading squad and a competitive swimmer; she later | 9 | | attended Illinois State University and Parkland Community | 10 | | College; she married Claude H. "Bud" Hurley in Collinsville on | 11 | | April 25, 1959; and | 12 | | WHEREAS, After graduating high school, Margo Hurley moved | 13 | | to Chicago and worked at a premier modeling agency; in 1963, | 14 | | she began working for the University of Illinois Foundation in | 15 | | Champaign and remained there for three years; in 1969, she | 16 | | became the executive assistant and business manager for the | 17 | | Claude H. Hurley Company, Consulting Geotechnical & Forensic | 18 | | Engineers in Elmhurst, where she worked for 54 years; she was | 19 | | also a successful real estate investor; and | 20 | | WHEREAS, Margo Hurley was preceded in death by her | 21 | | parents; her brother-in-law, Elton Hurley; her nephew, Scott | 22 | | Whitbeck; her niece, Robin Bradford; and her grandson, John |

| 1 | | Hurley; and | 2 | | WHEREAS, Margo Hurley is survived by her husband of 64 | 3 | | years; her sister, Diane Skiver; her brother, Michael J. | 4 | | Harvey; her children, Mark (Susan) Hurley, Marcia (James) | 5 | | Phillips, and Craig Hurley; six grandchildren; eight | 6 | | great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins; | 7 | | therefore, be it | 8 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL | 9 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 10 | | Margo Jean Hurley and extend our sincere condolences to her | 11 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | 12 | | further | 13 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 14 | | presented to the family of Margo Hurley as an expression of our | 15 | | deepest sympathy. |
