| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Dorothy Constance "Connie" Schofield of | 4 | | Lake Barrington Shores, who passed away on July 6, 2017; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Dorothy Schofield was born in Pittsburgh, | 6 | | Pennsylvania to James and Dorothy Henry on March 24, 1936; and
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Dorothy Schofield ran for Village of Lake | 8 | | Barrington trustee as a "55-year-old housewife"; she later | 9 | | served as village president, a village trustee, and board | 10 | | member of governmental district and community service | 11 | | organizations; she served as a Lake Barrington trustee from | 12 | | 1991 to 1997 and then as village president from 1997 through | 13 | | 2005; during her tenure as village president, she served on the | 14 | | board of the Barrington Area Council of Governments, serving as | 15 | | chairperson from 1999 to 2000; in addition, she was a director | 16 | | of the board of the Solid Waste Agency of Lake County during | 17 | | the 1990s and was named chair of the 40-member board from 1999 | 18 | | to 2004; she came out of retirement in 2005 to join the board | 19 | | for Barrington Area Council on Aging; in April of 2009, she | 20 | | rejoined Lake Barrington's village board as a trustee, and in | 21 | | total served her community tirelessly for more than 20 years | 22 | | before officially retiring in August of 2016; and |

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Dorothy Schofield has served on various | 2 | | committees and was known for her very popular donation to | 3 | | BACOA's annual wine tasting auction - 12 dozen homemade | 4 | | Christmas cookies; she was a longtime member of Saint Mary of | 5 | | the Annunciation Church in Mundelein, where she served as a | 6 | | coordinator of Eucharistic Ministers for many years; and
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Dorothy Schofield was preceded in death by her | 8 | | parents and her sister, Shirley (Ted) Malone; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Dorothy Schofield is survived by her husband of | 10 | | over 60 years, Thomas E. Schofield Sr.; her children, Kimberley | 11 | | Burns (Pat), Maureen Denison, Jeanne Worden (Scott), and Tom | 12 | | (Michelle); her grandchildren, Mark, Katie, Kevin, Allison | 13 | | (Brad), Kala, Kyle, Tommy, Caroline, Grace, Lauren, Patrick, | 14 | | Nicholas, Annabelle, Elise, and Michael; her | 15 | | great-grandchildren, Kendyl and Jackson; her sisters, Mary Lou | 16 | | (Chuck) Hrach and Suzanne (Austin) Tighe; and many nieces and | 17 | | nephews; therefore, be it
| 18 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | 19 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 20 | | Dorothy Constance "Connie" Schofield, and extend our sincere | 21 | | condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved | 22 | | her; and be it further
