| SENATE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois | 3 |
| learned with regret of the death of Donald L. Greer of Bethalto | 4 |
| on Sunday, May 7, 2006; and
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, He was born on July 6, 1931, in Carbondale to | 6 |
| Louie and Jennie (Ragle) Greer; he married the former Jean | 7 |
| Brinkman on July 27, 1950, in Gillespie; and
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, He worked for Owens-Illinois Glass Company for 34 | 9 |
| years, retiring in 1984, and then worked at Sears for 10 years; | 10 |
| and
| 11 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Greer enjoyed woodcarving and Cardinals | 12 |
| baseball and was a member of the Belleville Area Hoszchnitzers | 13 |
| Woodcarvers Association; his passions were his grandchildren, | 14 |
| great-grandchildren, and family; and
| 15 |
| WHEREAS, Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by | 16 |
| his sisters, Evalyn Smith, Juanita Groves, and Agnes Cooney; | 17 |
| and his brother, Louie Raymond Greer; and
| 18 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Donald L. Greer has been deeply | 19 |
| felt by many, especially his wife, Jean; his son, Donald E. | 20 |
| Greer; his daughter and her husband, Joni and Dr. Fred Dressen; | 21 |
| his grandchildren and their spouses, Jennifer Greer, Trisha | 22 |
| (Greer) and Thomas Verstappen, Laura (Dressen) and Charles | 23 |
| Hall, Gregory and Uma Dressen, Paul Dressen and his fiancee, | 24 |
| Karla Espinoza, and Jill Dressen; his great-grandchildren, | 25 |
| Amber, Katy, and Eden Hall, and Ava and Zoe Verstappen; and his | 26 |
| sister and brother-in-law, Audre and Warner Coffman; | 27 |
| therefore, be it

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL | 29 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
