| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of William B. Armstrong of Rock Island, who | 4 | | passed away on July 11, 2017; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, William Armstrong was born in Elmhurst to H. Wayne | 6 | | and Alma Kurtz Armstrong on January 9, 1928; he graduated from | 7 | | Rock Island High School and attended Western Illinois | 8 | | University; he served in the United States Marine Corp and | 9 | | married Marcella Hallas at South Park Presbyterian Church in | 10 | | Rock Island on August 22, 1948; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, William Armstrong worked as a truck driver for the | 12 | | Shell Oil Company for 35 years; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, William Armstrong was an active member of Trinity | 14 | | United Methodist Church in Milan; his favorite times included | 15 | | family gatherings and walking at Sunset Park; and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, William Armstrong was preceded in death by his | 17 | | wife, Marcella; his parents; his grandson, Steven Secor; and | 18 | | his brother, Robert; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, William Armstrong is survived by his children, | 20 | | Katherine (Richard) Secor, William (Candy) Armstrong, James |
