| HOUSE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | 3 |
| Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of
Rosie Mae | 4 |
| (Dillard) Crivens, who passed away on November 27, 2009; and
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Rosie Mae Crivens was born on November 9, 1940, in | 6 |
| Scotts, Mississippi; her parents were the late George and | 7 |
| Matilda (Wade) Dillard; and
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, Rosie Mae Crivens confessed her belief in God at | 9 |
| an early age; she was a faithful member of the Bellevue Baptist | 10 |
| Church for over 35 years; and
| 11 |
| WHEREAS, In 1953, Rosie Mae Crivens moved to Memphis, | 12 |
| Tennessee to pursue her education; in 1961, she graduated from | 13 |
| Douglass High School; while in Memphis, she met and married | 14 |
| Algie L. Crivens Jr. in 1962; and
| 15 |
| WHEREAS, In 1965, Rosie Mae Crivens moved to Chicago; in | 16 |
| 1991, she earned her bachelor’s degree with honors from Chicago | 17 |
| State University; and
| 18 |
| WHEREAS, Rosie Mae Crivens retired from the Illinois | 19 |
| Department of Children & Family Services in 2002 after 26 years | 20 |
| of dedicated service; and

| WHEREAS, Rosie Mae Crivens was preceded in death by her | 2 |
| parents; her sister, Mary Ellen Dillard-Young (Big Auntee); her | 3 |
| special daughter/niece, Gladys Dillard; and many other | 4 |
| relatives; and | 5 |
| WHEREAS, Rosie Mae Crivens is survived by her husband, | 6 |
| Algie Jr.; her sons, Ri`Chard and Algie L. Crivens III; her | 7 |
| daughter, Alicia L. Crivens (Kirk Sr. K.C.); her grandchildren, | 8 |
| Sade`, Trey-von, Antoine, Ri’Shan, Derrick, James, Ahmad and | 9 |
| Ahkeem; her step-grandchildren, Kymoni and Kirk Jr.; her | 10 |
| play-daughter, Vicki; her very special niece (daughter), | 11 |
| Alfreida Dillard; her special daughters, LaShinya | 12 |
| Jamison-Crivens and Cynthia Patterson; her sisters, Charlena | 13 |
| Dillard-Porter (Auntee), Lorraine Dillard (Doll), Cora | 14 |
| Dillard-Redeemer (Sweet), and Golda Dillard-Buie (Bemae); her | 15 |
| brother Wade Dillard (Brother); her sister-in-laws, Maxine | 16 |
| (Milton) Ivy and Jean (Polk) Jennings; her brother-in-law, | 17 |
| James; her 16 nieces and 21 nephews; and her many cousins, | 18 |
| grandnieces, great-grandnieces, and nephews; and
| 19 |
| WHEREAS, Rosie Mae Crivens will be remembered by all who | 20 |
| knew and loved her as a thoughtful person whose unwavering love | 21 |
| of the Lord, grace, elegance, and strength endeared her to | 22 |
| everyone she met; therefore, be it

| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | 2 |
| NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | 3 |
| mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Rosie | 4 |
| Mae (Dillard) Crivens; and be it further
| 5 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 6 |
| presented to the family of Rosie Mae Crivens as an expression | 7 |
| of our sympathy.
