| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Richard N. Slead of Moline, who passed | 4 | | away on July 20, 2015; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Richard Slead was born on October 21, 1926 in | 6 | | Moline; his parents were Ora and Hazel (Whetstine) Slead; he | 7 | | married Dorothy Holdefer on January 9, 1948 in Muscatine; and
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Richard Slead served his country as a member of | 9 | | the United States Navy during World War II; and | 10 | | WHEREAS, Richard Slead retired from the Schebler Company in | 11 | | Davenport, Iowa in 1995 after 30 years of service; he was also | 12 | | the owner of the former Bridgelane Tap in Moline; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Richard Slead enjoyed woodworking, gardening, | 14 | | traveling, and his pets; he was also an avid Chicago Cubs and | 15 | | Bears fan; and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Richard Slead was preceded in death by his wife, | 17 | | his brothers, Donald and Jimmy Slead, and a sister, Elsie | 18 | | Adamson; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Richard Slead is survived by 5 children, Norman |
