| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Rudolph B. Grom of Sun City West, | 4 | | Arizona, formerly of North Chicago, who passed away on December | 5 | | 26, 2013; and
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Rudolph Grom was born on March 21, 1921 in | 7 | | Waukegan; he married Helen Tucka on August 13, 1949; and
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Rudolph Grom was the owner of Grom's Barber Shop | 9 | | in North Chicago for many years before being elected to public | 10 | | office as City Treasurer; he later served as City Clerk in | 11 | | North Chicago until his retirement in 1984; he also served on | 12 | | the Foss Park District board for many years; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Rudolph Grom was an active member of St. Mary's | 14 | | Kranjsko-Slovenska Katoliska Jednota #79; while in Arizona, he | 15 | | was a member of the Our Lady of Lourdes Men's Club, the | 16 | | Illinois Club, Prides, and the Echo Mesa Golf Club; he also | 17 | | volunteered at Boswell Hospital and volunteered at Friday Night | 18 | | Bingo and the local food pantry; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Rudolph Grom enjoyed playing golf in Arizona | 20 | | following his retirement; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Rudolph Grom was preceded in death by his wife, | 2 | | Helen; his son, Lawrence; and many brothers and sisters; and | 3 | | WHEREAS, Rudolph Grom is survived by his sons, Rudolph, Jr. | 4 | | and Terrence (Theresa); his grandchildren, Lawrence, Douglas, | 5 | | Jeffrey (Cara), Terrence, Jr., and Janet; his sister, Angie; | 6 | | and his many other relatives and friends; therefore, be it
| 7 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL | 8 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his | 9 | | family and friends, mourn the passing of Rudolph B. Grom; and | 10 | | be it further
| 11 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 12 | | presented to the family of Rudolph Grom as an expression of our | 13 | | sympathy.
