| 1 | | SENATE RESOLUTION | 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | 3 | | to learn of the death of Reverend Jack L. Heino, who passed | 4 | | away on February 12, 2024; and | 5 | | WHEREAS, Rev. Heino attended Concordia Theological | 6 | | Seminary in Springfield; he married Mary Linda, and they moved | 7 | | to Oceanside, California, located just outside of the Marine | 8 | | Corps Base Camp Pendleton; and | 9 | | WHEREAS, Rev. Heino served as a frontline battalion | 10 | | chaplain for the 1st Battalion, 9th Marines of the U.S. Marine | 11 | | Corps in Vietnam from 1967 to 1968, where he was awarded the | 12 | | Bronze Star and the Purple Heart and received the rank of | 13 | | captain; he completed his service as chief of chaplains for | 14 | | all chaplains of the U.S. Armed Forces, based out of | 15 | | Washington, D.C., retiring in 1995; and | 16 | | WHEREAS, Rev. Heino and his wife, Mary, returned to East | 17 | | Moline in 1995; he continued to serve as a chaplain at the Rock | 18 | | Island Arsenal; over the course of his life of service, he | 19 | | served congregations in Farmington, Minnesota, Mellen, | 20 | | Wisconsin, Green Bay, Wisconsin, Webster City, Iowa, Geneseo, | 21 | | Illinois, and East Dundee, Illinois; and |

Heino is survived by his wife; his daughter, | 2 | | Marisa (Moises Andrade) Jeffers; his daughter, Gina (Dan) | 3 | | Campidilli, and her family, Dane Campidilli, Sam Ebensberger, | 4 | | Danika Klaver, Ross Enslin, Briar Klaver, Beckett Klaver, and | 5 | | Banks Enslin; his daughter, Carmen (Scott) Roberts, and her | 6 | | family, Morgan Biehunko and Grant Biehunko; and her daughter, | 7 | | Monica Sipp, and her family, Alexis Konopa, Eric Konopa, | 8 | | Colden Konopa, Callen Konopa, and Caleb Sipp, with another on | 9 | | the way; therefore, be it | 10 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL | 11 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 12 | | Reverend Jack L. Heino and extend our sincere condolences to | 13 | | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 14 | | further | 15 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 16 | | presented to the family of Rev. Heino as an expression of our | 17 | | deepest sympathy. |
