| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Joseph Henry "Joe" Niemietz of North | 4 | | Chicago, who passed away on November 6, 2019; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Joe Niemietz was born in Waukegan to Henry and | 6 | | Olga (Maslowski) Niemietz on December 25, 1947; he graduated | 7 | | from Holy Rosary Grade School, North Chicago Community High | 8 | | School, and the DeVry Institute with a degree in electronic | 9 | | technology; he served with the U.S. Army as a missile control | 10 | | tech during the Vietnam War; he married Susan Killoran on | 11 | | February 14, 1976; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Joe Niemietz worked for Streeter Richardson in | 13 | | Grayslake for 16 years; he retired from Tecnova in Waukegan in | 14 | | 2015 after 27 years of service; and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Joe Niemietz belonged to the Polish Legion of | 16 | | American Veterans, Casimir Pulaski Post 25 and the | 17 | | International Polka Association; he was a trumpet player with | 18 | | the Polka Lads Orchestra, the Casey Siewierski Orchestra, and | 19 | | many other Polka bands in the area; he had a passion for Polka | 20 | | music; he began playing at a very young age and loved to write | 21 | | and record in his home studio; he loved his family and took | 22 | | pride in taking care of his yard and home; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Joe Niemietz was preceded in death by his parents; | 2 | | his stepmother, Joyce; his brother, William; and his in-laws, | 3 | | John and Harriet Killoran; and
| 4 | | WHEREAS, Joe Niemietz is survived by his wife of 43 years, | 5 | | Susan; his daughter, Katherine (Craig) Morey; his son, John; | 6 | | his granddaughters, Brittany and Amanda Morey; his brothers, | 7 | | Timothy (Cheryl) and Raymond Niemietz; his sister, Darlene | 8 | | (Peter) Lavris; his brother-in-law, John (Paddi) Killoran; and | 9 | | numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; therefore, be it
| 10 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | 11 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 12 | | Joseph Henry "Joe" Niemietz and extend our sincere condolences | 13 | | to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be | 14 | | it further
