| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of George Philip Aderton of La Salle, who | 4 | | passed away on August 10, 2017; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, George Aderton was born in Hardin to Philip C. and | 6 | | Millie (Bailey) Aderton on June 16, 1928; he graduated from | 7 | | Hardin High School in 1946 and served as an X-ray technician in | 8 | | the United States Navy; he graduated from Illinois College in | 9 | | 1953 with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics; he earned his | 10 | | post-graduate degrees from Southern Illinois University | 11 | | through the Illinois Bankers Association and the Graduate | 12 | | School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin-Madison; he | 13 | | married Janice Ann Clendenny at First Presbyterian Church in | 14 | | Hardin on November 8, 1958; and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, George Aderton started his banking career as a | 16 | | cashier and vice president at the Bank of Kampsville; he became | 17 | | cashier and vice president of Citizens State Bank of Mt. Morris | 18 | | and then president and chairman of the board; he and a group of | 19 | | community leaders purchased the State Bank of Paw Paw, where he | 20 | | retired as president and chairman of the board in 1995; and
| 21 | | WHEREAS, George Aderton served as a Mt. Morris councilman | 22 | | and then Mayor from 1966 to 1969; he was a board member of |

| 1 | | Disciples United Methodist Church and the Jaycees; in Paw Paw, | 2 | | he was active in the Paw Paw Lions Club and a member of the Paw | 3 | | Paw United Methodist Church; he was also a 65-year member of | 4 | | Calhoun Masonic Lodge #792 and a 64-year member of American | 5 | | Legion Post 636 in Hardin; and | 6 | | WHEREAS, George Aderton volunteered for 20 years at the | 7 | | Order of St. Francis hospital in Ottawa as a "Pink Lady", as he | 8 | | loved to say; he was also a member of Grace United Methodist | 9 | | Church in La Salle, where he and his wife had resided since | 10 | | 1998; his true passions were spending time with family and | 11 | | friends, following his beloved St. Louis Cardinals, playing | 12 | | golf, and traveling; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, George Aderton was preceded in death by his | 14 | | parents and his sister, Jean (Aderton) Stewart; and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, George Aderton is survived by his wife, Janice; | 16 | | his children, Nanette (Randy) Trudell, Sally Aderton, Karen | 17 | | (Chris) Williams, and Philip L. (Elizabeth) Aderton; his | 18 | | grandchildren, Ira Trudell, Hannah Trudell, Katherine and John | 19 | | Aderton, and Samuel and Addison; and his great-grandchildren, | 20 | | Autumn, and twins Marty and Everett Trudell; therefore, be it
