| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | 3 | | to learn of the death of Deborah Grace (Hanson) Carlson, a | 4 | | longtime resident of Deerfield, who passed away on February | 5 | | 12, 2022; and
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Deborah Carlson was born in Bellows Falls, | 7 | | Vermont on June 15, 1929; she graduated from Bellows Falls | 8 | | High School and then attended Becker Junior College in | 9 | | Worcester, Massachusetts; she married Roger Carlson in 1956; | 10 | | and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Deborah Carlson became a medical secretary in | 12 | | Boston, which fueled a lifelong interest in all things | 13 | | medical; she then worked as a stewardess with American | 14 | | Airlines and flew out of O'Hare Airport; later, she worked as | 15 | | an activities director at the Whitehall in Deerfield and in | 16 | | sales at I. Magnin in Northbrook; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Deborah Carlson enjoyed singing, dancing, | 18 | | theater, travel, and tennis, occasionally reminding people | 19 | | that she once played doubles with Australian legend Roy | 20 | | Emerson; she was a dedicated visitor to Ravinia and the | 21 | | Chicago Botanic Garden; she was a lifelong Democrat; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Deborah Carlson was preceded in death by her | 2 | | husband, Roger, and her son, Greg; and
| 3 | | WHEREAS, Deborah Carlson is survived by her children, | 4 | | Jeffrey (Marcia) Carlson, Ann (Clifford) Miller, Leslie | 5 | | Carlson Magee, and Susan Carlson; her grandchildren, Kyle and | 6 | | Dillon McAfee, Lee (Andrew) Rizzo, Clinton, Kevin, and Jay | 7 | | Magee, Michael and Katherine Carlson, and Drew and Woody | 8 | | Miller; and her great-grandchildren, Frances, Charlotte, | 9 | | Zeyda, and Louise; therefore, be it
| 10 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL | 11 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
| 12 | | Deborah Grace (Hanson) Carlson and extend our sincere
| 13 | | condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved
| 14 | | her; and be it further
| 15 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
