| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | 3 | | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Isaiah | 4 | | Phillip Woods, who passed away on May 23, 2022; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Isaiah Woods was born to Anthony Phillip Woods | 6 | | and Yvette Williams on September 6, 1990; he received his | 7 | | primary education from Trinity United Church of Christ Child | 8 | | Care, Evangelical Christian School, and Matteson School | 9 | | District 162, where he was in the gifted program from the first | 10 | | through eighth grades; he graduated from Marian Catholic High | 11 | | School with high honors and Howard University with a Bachelor | 12 | | of Business Administration in Actuarial Science Insurance with | 13 | | high honors; he was on Howard University's Dean's List; he | 14 | | continued his insurance education at DePaul University, where | 15 | | he completed a variety of master's degree courses in risk | 16 | | management; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Isaiah Woods had previously worked in his | 18 | | elementary school's store; he worked at Fortune 100 Companies, | 19 | | including Wintrust, Lloyds of London, McAdam Financially | 20 | | Advanced, AGB Investigative Services, and Walgreens; he was | 21 | | also an entrepreneur who created music beats and had his own | 22 | | clothing line; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Isaiah Woods served on the Lloyds of London | 2 | | Executive Board and the TR2 Non-Profit Executive Board; and
| 3 | | WHEREAS, Isaiah Woods was a lifelong member of Trinity | 4 | | United Church of Christ (TUCC) in Chicago; he was active in the | 5 | | Little Warriors for Christ Ministry, the Imani Choir Ministry, | 6 | | the Martial Arts Ministry, the Math Tutorial Ministry, the | 7 | | Adopt-A-Student Ministry, the Youth Ministry, and the Media | 8 | | Ministry; he played with the Matteson-Olympia Fields baseball | 9 | | team and several other baseball and basketball teams for over | 10 | | nine years; he was a member of his junior high school's book | 11 | | club, chess club, and math club; he was a member of Marian | 12 | | Catholic High School's math club, football team, and wrestling | 13 | | team; while in college, he was a member of Howard University's | 14 | | School of Business: Executive Leadership Honors Program and | 15 | | was a Howard 2lst Career Awareness Program team leader; he was | 16 | | captain of Howard's baseball team and was a member of the | 17 | | student consulting group, the real estate club, and the | 18 | | finance club; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Isaiah Woods partook in numerous internships, | 20 | | including the President Barack Obama's Office of Presidential | 21 | | Correspondence internship, the FDIC Federal Deposit Insurance | 22 | | Corporation internship, the Deloitte Advisory Enterprise Risk | 23 | | Services internship, the Aon internship, the Grainger | 24 | | internship, Harvard University's Summer Venue Internship |

| 1 | | Program in Boston, Massachusetts, and the Boward University | 2 | | Center for Insurance Education Summer Internship in New York; | 3 | | and | 4 | | WHEREAS, Isaiah Woods was a Bill and Melinda Gates | 5 | | Millennium Scholar and was featured on the Suburban Issues | 6 | | television program as an honor roll student, representing | 7 | | Matteson School District 162; in addition, he received a | 8 | | multitude of other awards and scholarships, including TUCC's | 9 | | Dr. Manford Byrd Award, TUCC's Lucille Ellison/Kathryn Brown | 10 | | Memorial Scholarship, a United Negro College Fund scholarship, | 11 | | a Foundation for Agency Management Excellence Insurance | 12 | | scholarship, a Chade Foundation Scholarship, a Junior | 13 | | Achievement scholarship, a Park National Bank scholarship, a | 14 | | Ron Brown scholarship, a N'DIGO Foundation, a National African | 15 | | American Insurance Association scholarship, and a Kevin Kaplan | 16 | | Foundation scholarship; he was also on the high honor roll and | 17 | | received a perfect attendance award, an art award, a | 18 | | Principal's Award for receiving straight A's all four | 19 | | quarters, a math award, a Spanish award, a Wolf-Outstanding | 20 | | Effort award, a Pride-Outstanding Behavior award, a reading | 21 | | award, and a writers workshop award; and
| 22 | | WHEREAS, Isaiah Woods enjoyed traveling, listening to | 23 | | music, and spending time with friends; he loved playing | 24 | | baseball and basketball, starting at the age nine; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Isaiah Woods was preceded in death by his | 2 | | grandparents, Henry and Minnie Williams, and his aunt, Marie | 3 | | Williams Baskin; and
| 4 | | WHEREAS, Isaiah Woods is survived by his parents; his | 5 | | brother, Joshua Woods; his aunts, Debra Ann Williams Warthon, | 6 | | Sharon Woods, Francesca Woods, Francheska Woods, Sheila | 7 | | (Jackie) Holloway, Olga Woods, Mary Woods, and Gwen Woods; his | 8 | | uncles, James, Samson, Spencer, Jamie (Pam), and Orlando | 9 | | (Tianna); his great-uncles, Edward (Alvie) Barlow and James | 10 | | (Beverly) Barlow; his great-aunts, Helen Barlow, Mamie | 11 | | Williams, and Corine Croon; his cousins, Ricky Williams, | 12 | | Jamari Baskin, Latoya Warthon, Karechia Wallace Warthon, and | 13 | | Alissa Rickia Williams; numerous his other cousins; his | 14 | | godfather, Larry Smith; his godmother, Laurinia Ford; and | 15 | | numerous other relatives and friends; therefore, be it
