| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | 3 | | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Loreece | 4 | | Manna Haddad of Peoria, who passed away on August 22, 2020; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Loreece Haddad was born in Lebanon to Hanna Manna | 6 | | and Tamam (Azar) Manna on November 10, 1934; she married | 7 | | Antoine "Tony" Haddad on February 6, 1956, and he preceded her | 8 | | in death on December 5, 2015; she immigrated with her mother, | 9 | | husband, and children from war-torn Lebanon to the U.S. in | 10 | | 1977; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Loreece Haddad owned and operated Haddad's | 12 | | Restaurant on Main Street in Peoria; she also started one of | 13 | | the first pushcarts at the Peoria Courthouse Plaza; and
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Alongside her husband, Loreece Haddad provided | 15 | | for her family and any stranger in need with their strength, | 16 | | determination, generosity, and hard work; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Loreece Haddad was preceded in death by her | 18 | | parents; her husband; her sister, Josephine Kunz; and two | 19 | | infant sons, Elias Haddad and Sharbel Haddad; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Loreece Haddad is survived by her sister, Lydia |

| 1 | | Sfeir; her children, John (Jill) Haddad, Marie Batrouni, Gabe | 2 | | (Nidal) Haddad, Joseph (Giselle) Haddad, Nicola (Shirley) | 3 | | Haddad, and Rita (Andrew) Speck; her 18 grandchildren; and her | 4 | | 11 great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
| 5 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | 6 | | HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | 7 | | we mourn the passing of Loreece Manna Haddad and extend our | 8 | | sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew | 9 | | and loved her; and be it further
| 10 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 11 | | presented to the family of Loreece Haddad as an expression of | 12 | | our deepest sympathy.
