| SENATE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 |
| learn of the death of Bernice T. Zakroczymski of Antioch, who | 4 |
| passed away on September 26, 2008; and
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, She was born December 6, 1912 in Chicago, the | 6 |
| daughter of the late Chester J. and Antonette (Opatka) | 7 |
| Sobieski; she moved to Cicero in 1960, to Brookfield, Wisconsin | 8 |
| in 1989, and to Antioch in 1996; and
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, Bernice was a member of St. Peter Church and the | 10 |
| Senior Center in Antioch and the Polish Women National Alliance | 11 |
| and Society of the Little Flower in Chicago; and
| 12 |
| WHEREAS, Before her retirement she worked as a secretary | 13 |
| for Ceco Steel in Cicero; in 1942 she married Adam K. | 14 |
| Zakroczymski in Chicago; and
| 15 |
| WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her husband, Adam; | 16 |
| her brothers, Chester, John, Stanley, and Edward; and her first | 17 |
| husband, Sigfried Ogrodowski; and
| 18 |
| WHEREAS, Bernice Zakroczymski is survived by her two sons, | 19 |
| Adam (Patricia) Zakroczymski Jr. and Sigfred (June) | 20 |
| Ogrodowski; her five grandchildren, David C. (Stephanie) |

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL | 7 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | 8 |
| her family and friends, the passing of Bernice Zakroczymski; | 9 |
| and be it further
| 10 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 11 |
| presented to the family of Bernice Zakroczymski as a symbol of | 12 |
| our sincere sympathy.
