| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Mark D. Durkee of McHenry, who passed | 4 | | away on August 1, 2015; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Mark Durkee was born on March 9, 1920 in Alden; | 6 | | his parents were Edward J. and Elizabeth (nee Bailey) Durkee; | 7 | | and
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Mark Durkee was raised and worked on the family | 9 | | dairy farm in Hebron; he then worked at the Starline Factory as | 10 | | a punch press operator before working in road construction in | 11 | | Chicago, which he did for many year until his retirement; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, In the 1940s, Mark Durkee was a member of the | 13 | | Civilian Conservation Corps Camp; he enjoyed deer hunting, | 14 | | fishing, watching Wheel of Fortune, getting exercise at | 15 | | Walmart, watching the squirrels in the trees, and cats; and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Mark Durkee was preceded in death by his parents; | 17 | | his companion of 59 years, Elsie Fay Rust; 5 brothers, John, | 18 | | Paul, Harvey, George and Francis; a sister, Mary Motley; and a | 19 | | nephew, Dennis Durkee; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Mark Durkee is survived by his grandchildren, |
