HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives wish to congratulate the Plymouth Tube Company
4on the occasion of its 100th anniversary; and
 
5    WHEREAS, The Plymouth Tube Company is a fifth-generation,
6family-owned U.S. manufacturing company, classed as a small
7business and headquartered in Warrenville; the company was
8founded in Plymouth, Michigan in 1924 and specializes in the
9manufacturing of steel tubing and titanium and steel
10extrusions for demanding use in a variety of markets; and
 
11    WHEREAS, The Plymouth Tube Company has grown into a
12supplier for a multitude of markets, including aerospace, life
13sciences, fluid power, automation, chemical processing, heavy
14equipment, nuclear energy, performance racing, space
15propulsion, industrial markets, and more, which shapes its
16legacy of innovation and continued growth; and
 
17    WHEREAS, The Plymouth Tube Company regularly participates
18in air shows, including the Paris Air Show and the Farnborough
19International Airshow, which brings together leaders in the
20aerospace and defense industries to display their latest
21innovations, including the Plymouth Tube Company's titanium
22extrusions and stainless steel tubing; and

1    WHEREAS, The Plymouth Tube Company also encourages its
2employees to give back to their communities through volunteer
3service, specifically challenging them to record a minimum of
4100 hours of service or volunteerism per site by September 11,
52024 in honor of Patriot Day; employees recorded a total of
61,633 hours of service, which included sports coaching, elder
7care, crisis center assistance, natural disaster relief,
8veteran support, animal rescue, and blood drives; and
 
9    WHEREAS, The Plymouth Tube Company has engineered
10innovations that originated from customer interactions,
11including nuclear thimble tubes to house the nuclear reactor
12temperature gauges, near-net titanium extrusions for weight
13and material savings for both commercial and defense aviation
14applications, and Plymouth ProMoly race car chassis tubing
15that keeps drivers safe during race day crashes; and
 
16    WHEREAS, The Plymouth Tube Company has implemented waste
17reduction techniques that include benefits for environmental
18sustainability and cost reduction, which, according to the
19U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, eliminated a costly
20hazardous waste stream of ink by changing the printing process
21at one manufacturing facility; in addition, the team at a
22different Plymouth Tube Company facility identified and
23completed a 13.5 million standard cubic feet per year

1reduction in hydrogen usage; therefore, be it
 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
3HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
4we congratulate the Plymouth Tube Company on the occasion of
5its 100th anniversary and commend the continued commitment by
6the employees, executives, and leadership to support and
7supply American markets with high-quality tubing; and be it
8further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the Plymouth Tube Company as a symbol of our
11esteem and respect.
