| 1 | | SENATE RESOLUTION | 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | 3 | | to learn of the death of Joseph Martin "Joe" McKenna of Erie, | 4 | | who passed away on April 22, 2024; and | 5 | | WHEREAS, Joe McKenna, the son of Martin and Kathryn | 6 | | (Riordon) McKenna, was born in Sterling on August 14, 1944; he | 7 | | served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War; he married | 8 | | Frances Dean Hanks, and she preceded him in death in 1974; he | 9 | | later married Gloria Rosenow at the Erie United Methodist | 10 | | Church on November 23, 1985; and | 11 | | WHEREAS, Joe McKenna worked as a welder at John Deere | 12 | | Harvester for 30 years, retiring in 2003; and | 13 | | WHEREAS, Joe McKenna and his wife, Gloria, operated an | 14 | | antique shop for 14 years, and they worked at many antique | 15 | | shows on weekends; and | 16 | | WHEREAS, Joe McKenna enjoyed gardening and working on the | 17 | | farm; he also enjoyed going to casinos and playing cards with | 18 | | family; and | 19 | | WHEREAS, Joe McKenna was preceded in death by his parents; | 20 | | his son, Joseph McKenna; his brothers, Tom and Clare; and his |

| 1 | | sisters, Annette and Mary; and | 2 | | WHEREAS, Joe McKenna is survived by his wife of 38 years, | 3 | | Gloria; his children, Lloyd (Christine) McKenna, Shawn (Donna) | 4 | | McKenna, Martin (Kandi) McKenna, and Kathryn (Mark Cox) | 5 | | McKenna; his stepchildren, Carla (Roger) Jaquet, Christopher | 6 | | (Christine) Mortensen, Jeff Mortensen, and Jodi (Jim Garson) | 7 | | Youngberg; 25 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren; | 8 | | therefore, be it | 9 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL | 10 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 11 | | Joseph Martin "Joe" McKenna and extend our sincere condolences | 12 | | to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be | 13 | | it further | 14 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 15 | | presented to the family of Joe McKenna as an expression of our | 16 | | deepest sympathy. |
