| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of
Myrna J. Kangas, who passed away on | 4 | | September 6, 2012; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Myrna Kangas was born on October 20, 1939, in | 6 | | Ironwood, Michigan; she was the daughter of Fritz and Evelyn | 7 | | (Johnson) Anderson; she married Donald Kangas on June 28, 1958, | 8 | | in Waukegan; she and her husband lived in Waukegan for over 30 | 9 | | years and were part-time residents of Iron River, Wisconsin | 10 | | since 1987; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Myrna Kangas graduated from L. L. Wright High | 12 | | School in Ironwood, Michigan in 1957; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Myrna Kangas served as the secretary to the | 14 | | president of American National Bank in Waukegan for over 20 | 15 | | years; and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Myrna Kangas was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran | 17 | | Church in Waukegan and attended Our Savior's Lutheran Church in | 18 | | Iron River, Wisconsin; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Myrna Kangas was an avid golfer who enjoyed | 20 | | playing in the local golf leagues; she also enjoyed reading, |

| 1 | | crocheting, and traveling with her husband; and | 2 | | WHEREAS, Myrna Kangas was preceded in death by her parents | 3 | | and her step-father, Raymond Snow; and
| 4 | | WHEREAS, Myrna Kangas is survived by her husband, Donald | 5 | | Kangas; her daughters, Kimberly Kangas and Kristine Payne; her | 6 | | grandchildren, Brian Kangas and Lindsay Payne; her brother, | 7 | | Gerald (Percie) Anderson; and her many nieces and nephews; | 8 | | therefore, be it
| 9 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL | 10 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | 11 | | her family and friends, the passing of Myrna J. Kangas; and be | 12 | | it further
| 13 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 14 | | presented to the family of Myrna Kangas as an expression of our | 15 | | sympathy.
