| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Mary A. Ulrich of Peoria, who passed away | 4 | | on October 8, 2017; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Mary Ulrich was born in Peoria to Glen and Daisy | 6 | | (Smith) Horr on May 8, 1936; she graduated from Canton High | 7 | | School and attended Midstate College; she was a Certified | 8 | | Financial Administrator and a Certified Municipal Illinois | 9 | | Treasurer; she married Harry L. Ulrich in Indiana in 1963; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Mary Ulrich was the manager of the Peoria City | 11 | | Employees Credit Union; she then worked as the City Treasurer | 12 | | and was proud of the way she grew the Firemen's Pension for the | 13 | | City of Peoria; and
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Mary Ulrich was active on the Board of the Boys | 15 | | and Girls Club of America; she was a past President of the | 16 | | National Treasurers Association, a past Director of the | 17 | | Municipal Treasurers Association of the United States and | 18 | | Canada, the Proclamation President of the Municipal | 19 | | Association, and a member of the Illinois Municipal Treasurers | 20 | | Association; she received a Trustee Program Certificate of | 21 | | Completion, as well as a special service award for her | 22 | | achievements and commitment; she was also awarded the Charlotte |

| 1 | | Danstrom Women of Achievement Award from Women in Management, | 2 | | Inc.; and
| 3 | | WHEREAS, Mary Ulrich was a member of the Living Waters | 4 | | Lutheran Church in Peoria; she enjoyed traveling Europe, | 5 | | spending Saturday nights watching movies with her girlfriends, | 6 | | volunteering, collecting angels, and hosting Christmas Eve for | 7 | | her family; and
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Mary Ulrich was preceded in death by her parents; | 9 | | her husband, Harry; her daughter, Jean Johnson; her son, Mitch | 10 | | Ulrich; her brother, Bobby Horr; and her sisters, Wanda Vanardi | 11 | | and Jean Nebergall; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Mary Ulrich is survived by her sons, Harry | 13 | | (Cheryl) Ulrich and Rick (Cathy) Ulrich; her grandchildren, | 14 | | Bonnie (Mark) Meinders, Robert (Jessica) Johnson, Matthew | 15 | | Ulrich, Jillian (Christopher) Hansen, Jessica (Eric) Force, | 16 | | Rachel (JF) Ferretti, Robert Kessler, Rick (Crystal) Ulrich, | 17 | | and Katelynn Kessler; her numerous great-grandchildren; and | 18 | | her sisters, Elizabeth Newton and Judy (Don) Woodcock; | 19 | | therefore, be it
